Persona 3: FES

Persona 3: FES is the complete version of 2007's best role-playing game, Persona 3.  This version was originally only released in Japan, but it was released in the US at April 22, 2008.  It is a RPG with a very unique style of story and concept.  The battle system is that of turned-based; however, it is done in a way where it is not boring.

It consists of two main parts: The Journey and The Answer.  The Journey is relatively the same story as the original Persona 3 but with extras.  In this part, you play as a quiet, newly-arrived high school student that sees many strange things while first walking to his dorm.  When you arrive at the dorm and as time continues, you learn that you're not the only one who sees these things.  Information of the Dark Hour and Shadows are explained to you by a group called SEES (Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad). They use a certain power called Persona to eliminate the Shadow creatures.  However, not all of the mysteries of this hour and its creatures are known.

When playing throughout The Journey, you'll be able to establish social links of the different arcana to power your certain Persona.  The social links include: Magician, Priestess, Empress, Emperor, Hierophant, Lovers, Chariot, Strength, Hermit, Fortune, Justice, Hanged Man, Temperance, Devil, Tower, Star, Moon, and Sun.  You are also given the chance to increase your academic, charm, and courage skills by either singing karaoke, watching movies, studying at the library, ect.  These features give the player a compelling gameplay experience along with fun battling of the Dark Hour.

The Answer, on the other hand, is an entirely new chapter of the story.  This part is an additional +30 hours of gameplay, and it takes place after the events of The Journey.  In this part, you play as the robot named Aigis instead of the player character in the original story.  Unfortunately, the game is more based on a straightforward dungeon crawl than applying the social life sim gameplay.  This completely obliterates the academic and social links, and mainly focuses on combat.  With this chunk of gameplay taken out, it makes The Answer a bit more uninteresting to play.  However, this part explains the true ending of the story with a whole lot better closure.

I, personally, loved the voice acting in this game.  They were very well-picked for each character; they fit perfectly to their personalities.  Not to mention some of my favorite American voice actors were chosen: Yuri Lowenthal, Liam O'Brien, Michelle Ruff, ect.

Lastly, the music for both parts are very enjoyable to listen to.  Each track seems to fit perfectly in the situations it is given to you in.  The music is more of its own unique style rather than being in a single genre.  If you ever wish to get your hands on the soundtracks, you might want to check around for a bit.  Here are some links from me:
